Aundelssa Estate’s tasting room is located in the beautiful and historic Poppe building, across the street from the Jack London Lodge. The tasting room is spacious and residential in style. There is a comfortable seating area for private tastings and a bar for communal tastings to sample the exceptional wines being made by this small, artisan winemaker.
Their portfolio of wines includes both reds and whites. The standouts for us were the reds: we particularly enjoyed the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. We thought the blends were knockouts and also a good value for the price. All the wines we tasted had a good balance of elegance and power. These wines are worth tasting and buying at the winery; they can be difficult to find in the retail market due to the winery’s intentionally limited distribution channel. For us, this just makes the wines even more special.
