OK, so it’s not often that we give two shout-outs to one location, but we make an exception for the Carneros Inn and their all-day dining room, “The Boon Fly Café.” This is one of the best breakfasts in the entire area, and we obviously weren't the only ones who thought so because the place was full of locals each time we visited.

The breakfast menu has a little bit of everything without being over-whelming. We started with a Bacon Bloody Mary (yes, with bacon strips); steel-cut oats with milk and honey; Joe’s Eggs in a Hole, which is sour-dough bread with two fried eggs, hash browns, and choice of ham, sausage, or bacon; and some outstanding donuts.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the decor was very inviting and charming, along the lines of a "Martha Stewart style” farmhouse.

Overall, the Boon Fly Café is the per-fect way to start your day.
