We were blown away by Rotisserie & Wine, celebrity chef Florence Tyler’s new Napa outpost.
How often does one rave about a salad course? Quite frankly, most salads are not exactly material for memory lane, unless you order one at Rotisserie & Wine. We had the winter salad, composed of over 20 different leaves and herbs, and this was just the introduction to an outstanding meal.
The salad course was followed by cheese puffs made with bacon, mornay sauce, and Sonoma’s famous Vella Jack cheese. We then had the small meat board of house-made charcuterie, prepared with the finesse and artistry of a painter. This was followed by a bowl of gumbo that would make even someone from “NOLA” proud.
We finished—of course—with the rotisserie chicken, just one more highlight deserving of a place in a foodie’s hall of fame. Simply put, this meal was a WOW!
The bar is the best place to sit if you want to appreciate every aspect of this dining experience. Our only gripe would be that we paid corkage for the bottle of wine, even though we also purchased a bottle from the restaurant’s very cool wine list.
In our humble opinion, Rotisserie & Wine (along with Morimoto Napa) has set a new benchmark for wine country fine dining.
